Content Management - LoadStone overview

What it is
Many web sites don’t hold the information they should or they quickly become out of date. This is often because the people who have the information do not have the skills to manage the site and have to rely on other people, which in turn leads to delay or the site just not getting maintained. LoadStone is XMo2’s web-content management solution, allowing non-technical staff to create and update the content of a web site and to decide where and when the content gets published.

What it isn’t
LoadStone is not a web site design tool. There are many excellent tools on the market (e.g. FrontPage and DreamWeaver to name just two) which provide an impressive set of design features. LoadStone’s aim is to add value by easily getting content onto a site and efficiently routing content to different sites as required.

How it works
If a site is to use LoadStone it needs to be designed to support xml. Just small sections of a site can be re-engineered to use xml so that LoadStone can be applied incrementally to areas requiring most frequent change. One good example of this would be a news section – this area of a site could be simply restructured to use xml and then LoadStone implemented to let non technical users write and publish the news. Another good example would be the job vacancies section –simple to restructure so that HR staff could publish job opportunities.
